A LIFE WORTH LIVING
Have you ever had the feeling that you would like to accomplish something with your life? You feel that you want to make an impact. Maybe you have found the life that you are leading today is less fulfilling than you had thought it would be. You want more. Perhaps you feel that God may be calling you to travel by a different road....
It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your life.
Pope John Paul II, World Youth Day, Rome 2000.
What to do next?
There are several things that you could do if you are interested in becoming a diocesan priest. Firstly you should continue to pray. Give the Holy Spirit space and time to direct you. Perhaps you could talk to a priest that you know. But do something.
How do I know that I am being called to be a priest?
At the beginning, a wish to serve God and to serve others would be a good indication that you should consider service as a diocesan priest.

Here are some simple questions which you may wish to reflect upon:
:: Do you enjoy being with people?
:: Do you enjoy working with people?
:: Are you compassionate and caring enough to understand others?
:: Do you sometimes feel that God is very close to you?
:: Can you accept failure in yourself and in others?
:: Are you willing to make sacrifices to achieve something truly worthwhile?
:: Is truth important to you?
A positive answer to several of these questions may indicate that God is entrusting you with a vocation to the priesthood.
Jesus turned round and said: "What do you want?"
They answered: "Rabbi, where do you live?"
He replied: "Come and see"

If Jesus were to tell you "Come and see", would you trust and follow Him?
A Reflection
He needed a chief to guide His people, so He chose an old man - and Abraham got up.
He needed a rock to build His Church upon, so He chose the one who denied Him - and Peter got up.
He needed a face to show us His love, so He chose a sinner - none other than Mary Magdalene.
He needed a witness to broadcast His message, so He chose the one who had persecuted Him - Paul of Tarsus.
He still needs someone to gather His people together, and if He has chosen you - even if you are afraid, can't you give yourself?
